Mietta's Review
Loud, friendly and comfortable. Lots of great Turkish food, belly dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. This long established restaurant is a great place for groups to have a fun night out. The belly dancer shows diners how to shake down the generous helpings. Mains average $19.

Other published opinions

Brisbane Times Score: 11/20 "Charmingly rustic, Caravanserai is right at home in West End. Dim lighting, unpolished floorboards and a serene back veranda create a mellow vibe, while woven tablecloths and cushions add a touch of exoticism"

Brisbane News David Bentley, 23-1-2008 "Caravanserai on Dornoch Terrace is a long-term survivor in West End's evolving dining scene. I fi rst reviewed the place about 15 years ago, shortly after a Turkish family had opened it. For the past 13 years, it's prospered under the watchful eye of Australian restaurateur Michelle Gibson who maintains the Turkish theme"

Courier Mail food and wine guide Queensland 2008 Score: 12/20 "Attractively perched on the side of a hill, this West End stalwart overlooks the river towards the south from its back veranda, so outside diners can choose either that view or the footpath at the front, shielded from the road by vines"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "With a decade behind it, the quality of food remains high at this friendly eatery"

Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 "Caravanserai is housed in a moody old Queenslander, the walls spiced up with jewelled coloured rugs and interesting ethnic artefacts. At the weekends there's even a belly dancer. If you require fuel to dance, remember it's BYO only."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "It's a wildly colourful and relaxed restaurant serving Turkish food richly spiced and earthy."
