Le Classic

Ph: (07) 3397 5544; 420 Cavendish Rd, COORPAROO 4151

French Provencial, $$
Open Dinner Tue-Sat; Licensed, BYO; AE BC MC V

Mietta's Review
As the unusually spelt name suggests this is France transposed to the Brisbane suburbs. Traditional food with a twist well cooked by a long time professional chef. Eccentric atmosphere that is almost fashionable again. Strong family feeling from the owners and a violinist on weekend nights adds to the charm. In 06 mains averaged $25.

Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 "There aren't many restaurants around town you enter through a women's boutique but really, what could be more French than combining food and fashion? Coorparoo's Le Classic is a bit of a surprise package."

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "When Alain Rochet came out of retirement to work with son Alex, Brisbane's Francophiles embraced the idea. Le Classic is a popular haunt to try traditional dishes"

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "It's French to its bootstraps, and turned heads in suburban Coorparoo when it was opened by the Rochet family a couple of years ago. From the outside there's little hint of the rich surrounds inside, with lots of timber, violins and other musical instruments lining the walls and a resident baby grand."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "French chef Alain Rochet offers a range of set menus as well as a huge a la carte selection at this colourful, family-run restaurant."

Brisbane Times, Restaurants, Alison Walsh, 4/9/02, "Dishes up classic Gallic fare with an unexpected twist."
