Mietta's Review
So the French do Brisbane's best high tea. Patissier, Olivier Sofo, provides the beautiful cakes and savoury dishes for this most English of ceremonies. French tea from Mariages Freres is served in English bone china cups by English speaking French waiters. Tiered cake stands groaning under a wealth of delicate sandwiches, cakes and chocolates in a room filled with an abundance of fresh roses make this a very lovely marriage of cultures. In 06 mains averaged $28.

Courier Mail food and wine guide Queensland 2008 "With a beautiful courtyard surrounding this quaint cafe, High Societea seems to have been made for the large band of young mothers who get together for tea and gossip while their children are at school"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "Kathy Heath created this pretty place three years ago, and it's since become one of Brisbane's best-known tea houses, taking out last year's Best Themed Restaurant in the Australian Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence"

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Elegant place settings and rose-filled vases alert you to the fact that you get more than a cuppa here. A favourite with ladies who lunch, and ideal for a celebration, Kathy Heath's high tea venture serves tiers of sweet and savoury delights."

Courier Mail Goodlife 20/7/04 Alison Cotes "Try as I might, I could find nothing to fault here. There are fresh roses everywhere, fine English bone china (a different pattern at every table), white linen tablecloths, attentive waiters with sexy French accents, a huge bowl of strawberries on the sideboard, and 15 different kinds of tea, including the Marco Polo blend of Chinese and Tibetan flowers and bernes from the house of Mariages Freres."
