Mietta's Review
A great meeting spot, Friday night for those in the urban scene. Smart long communal table, display kitchen with noodle tossing, a good buzz at the bar due to clever design - you can see people from either side, making it a really good scene.

Other published opinions

Brisbane Times Score: 12/20 "The moniker aside, there's nothing zen about this up-tempo city hang-out. It's loud, dark, bustling and most of the smartly suited punters are far too busy worshipping Bacchus to spare a thought for poor old Buddha"

Courier Mail food and wine guide Queensland 2008 Score: 12/20 "The Zenbar moniker may be suggestive of meditative seclusion, but this CBD restaurant is more akin to a Shinjuku bar or Hong Kong street stall when it comes to noise, colour and movement"

Brisbane News Tony Harper, 10-10-2007 Score: Food 7.5 Service 6.5 Wine 7 Ambience 7 "It's been on the local culinary and bar scene since 1996, and it has carved a solid reputation among the city's suit and tie brigade as a reliable spot for a laid-back lunch, or a cool venue for live music and a cocktail when the sun goes down. It's a big space, seating 200, and the decor is modern and clean. And it's always nice to sit by an 8m-long glass wall with views of Anzac Square"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "Set in a former office space with enormous windows overlooking a park, Zenbar has clean lines and an industrial feel"

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 2006 "Since opening in 1996, Zenbar has attracted hundreds of city workers through its doors and is a great place for people-watching. It's a hip, funky bar, and has a menu that makes quick decisions difficult."

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Popular for post-office get-togethers, Zenbar carries its Asian theme from the food to the cocktails (ko phi phi and sake tumi)."

Courier-Mail GoodLife Bar Jason Davis15/11/05 "Any bar will look welcoming when there's a good-natured crowd in and the cocktails are flying, but Zenbar on the western corner of Post Office Square managed it on a real stinker of a Thursday night. With only a handful of punters, the sweeping bar and cheery staff made the place stand out like a beacon of beeriness just next to the Adelaide St footbridge. Still, Zenbar must be doing something right, having survived 10 years of city bar upheavals with the same face."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "It's one of the grooviest, funkiest, hippest swinging bars in town, and the food isn't bad, either. They call themselves an oasis in the city, and as the eight-metre glass wall overlooks a bamboo garden, that's almost true."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "Dine indoors in trendy warehouse-like surrounds or soak up the outdoor ambience of busy Anzac Square as you sample offerings with a distinctly Asian flavour.
