Mietta's Review
Jorge is clearly young and has a hearty appetite. Too cool to be cute this good little place serves (in a laid back but charming manner) large plates of well balanced food at very reasonable prices. A card on the tables suggest that the barista matters more than God which may well be so to its under 35 year old crowd.

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "This three-level cocktail lounge, in a heritage-listed building, boasts a good sense of style and draws a chic crowd"

Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 "This venue caused a huge stir when it opened back in 2001 and still offers a sophisticated stand-alone bar. It has more competition now but the street-level restaurant remains a stylish retreat from the CBD fray."

Courier-Mail GoodLife Bar Nick Bray 12/7/05 "Since then, a select few other establishments have joined Jorge on the scene, such as Cru, Barsoma, Sunbar and the Bowery, but Jorge retains the distinction of being the first and it's still better than most bars around town."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "The funkiest address in the CBD, Jorge is two parts groove, one part food. In the front is a casual bar where snacks like wraps and salads are available and out the back is a cosy little dining area where an eclectic collection of dishes is available."

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004, Good vegetarian options,'This place is a mecca for the seriously cool set and the venue provides different zones under one roof to suit your mood...snack on a casual menu of finger food (think tapas, wedges and Asian), or for dressier dining...you'll find a seleection of well executed bistro-style entrees and mains...an interesting little wine list'
