Mietta's Review
The rowers have vanished into the sunset only to be replaced by an Asian themed restaurant and bar. It's enough to make a self-respecting Viet Nam vet shake his head in amazement. But if you want to eat Australian versions of pan_Asian food you're in the right place. If you just want a drink try the Shadow Lounge above where exotic and classic cocktails mix. In 06 mains averages $20.

Other published opinions

Courier Mail Anooska Tucker-Evans, "SINGER Justin Timberlake hung out there when last in Brisbane, and so did Virgin boss Richard Branson -- but whether you're a celebrity or not, Jade Buddha is a popular place. Once the old City Rowers, this bar/restaurant underwent a makeover a few years ago to become one of the city's most stylish drinking venues"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "Capturing 180-degree views of the river, this is a haven of oriental cool, with Asian artefacts and design"

Sunday Mail Renae Robinson, 17-9-2006 "The restaurant, mainly owned by the Hogan brothers and in which tennis great Pat Rafter has a stake, came through with the goods in the end - tasty wine, interesting mains, scrumptious desserts, all in a cool setting, with stunning views of the Story Bridge. The wait staff were keen, friendly and competent, and the clientele an interesting mix of birthday parties, corporate tables, older families and youngish singles."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 2006 "Jade Buddha is a CBD watering hole on the site of the old City Bowers on Eagle Street Pier. Spacious and contemporary inside, the room opens out on to a wide semi-circular veranda which overlooks one of the prettiest reaches of the Brisbane River."

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "East melds with West at one of Brisbane's newest meeting places (formerly City Rowers night club)."
