Courier-Mail Bar Natalie Gregg 21/2/06 "In renovating, the designers have tried to juxtapose the hotel's heritage feel (Hotel LA is short for Hotel Lord Alfred), with its rich wooden bar tops and comfortable leather couches, with an Oriental theme. In the bar it is a case of too many ideas and not enough co-ordination. Its generic-hotel lobby style carpet clashes with the decorative classic wallpaper. And I'm not sure what that lime green retro pushbike is doing behind the bar. To top it off there are Asian-style cane stools throughout."
