Courier Mail Alison Cotes, 22-5-2007 Score: Food: 12 Service: 12 Ambience: 15 Value for money: 13 "Last week, for example, I came home after lunch at Caffe Libri in The American Bookstore with an eclectic mix of tomes, not to mention three samples of Tania's homemade cakes and biscuits ($2.20-$4.95, and you'll find that the biscuits are better value). At first glance prices seem to be quite high here, but the size of the servings almost makes up for them. Those who aren't very hungry can always snack on Di's famous sandwiches ($7.50), which looked like the average mixed bag to me, but had the advantage of being proper little neat triangles like your mother used to make. And there are even ribbon sandwiches for $4.50, or $6 with salad, which are even daintier but sometimes as much as you need.
