Mietta's Review
Though described as 'updated' with 'sleek and modern' touches it remains an old style fine dining experience, perhaps partly because of the a restored heritage building which it inhabits. It's regulars are politicians, well-suited business people and the occasional celebrity. The modern Australian menu offers lots of meat. Mains average $30.

Other published opinions

Brisbane Times Score: 14/20 "Politicians and high-flying corporates are regulars in this refined establishment, in the historic 1889 Mansions building. Maybe they're the only ones who can afford the hefty prices on the wine list, which spans a wide range of varieties from local and international vineyards"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "In the magnificent 19th-century mansions building, this is a simple but elegant dining venue"

Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 * "In the competitive world of food and wine, few restaurateurs last more than a decade and even less can lay claim to more than 20 years running the same business. But Augustine Tso's fine dining restaurant near Parliament House in downtown Brisbane has become a virtual institution among George St politicians and corporate high flyers."

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Surrounded by history in the 19th-century Mansions Building, Augustine and Judy Tso's fine diner is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "You don't last for nearly two decades in a highly competitive city market if you're not doing something right. In 2004, Augustine and Judy Tso chalked up birthday number 19 at their restaurant, housed in the very elegant surrounds of the restored 19th Century Mansions Building, a stone's throw from Parliament House."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "Set in a graceful terrace house, Augustine's exudes class. Its three dining rooms offer privacy, and Trent Angove's menu,"

Brisbane Times, Restaurant, Alison Walsh, 13/11/02. "An updated city restaurant continues a fine dining tradition."
