Mietta's Review
After working as an executive in a number of hotels chef, Tony Leung, opened his own place in suburban Auchenflower. The mid-priced food is European based with Asian touches with a number of health conscious dishes. The modern bistro atmosphere is boosted by excellent, well pitched, service. It's BYO and in 06 mains averaged $27.

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "This is a family-run restaurant, offering a range of gluten-free dishes, plus a three-course menu at $50 with more than six choices of entree, mains and desserts"

Courier Mail Lizzie Loel, 20-5-06 Score Food: 13 Wine: N/A Service: 15 Ambience: 14 "TO SAY that Hong Kong-born chef Terry Leung is passionate about food is an understatement. He believes a true chef creates from the heart and the soul, hence the name of his Auchenflower eatery, Food and Soul 1. Described as modern Australian and Asian cuisine, the menu is vast and bolstered by daily blackboard specials. Gluten and dairy-free dishes are marked and, of them, the choice is wide. We sat out in the small courtyard enjoying a perfect evening as well as the gracious hospitality of Terry's wife, Cindy."

Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 "Owner/chef Terry Leung believes that the best food comes from the heart and soul, which explains the name of this tiny restaurant hidden in one of the side streets in the western suburbs of Brisbane. Here he cooks food that is healthy as well as delicious"

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "The candle-lit tables add a touch of romance to chef Terry Leung's bright eatery, tucked away in a street off busy Milton Road. Terry's eclectic menu lists low-fat options and fuses western cuisine with Asian flair"

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "Finally, with wife Cindy, he [Terry Leung] took the plunge and opened his own place in the suburbs where he's fusing west with east. He chose the restaurant's name because he believes good chefs create from the heart and soul."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "Fresh from his position as group executive chef for the Pig 'n' Whistle group, Terence Leung's latest venture is a modern affair with a fresh and simple menu."

Brisbane News 11/04 Natascha Mirosch score 6.5/10 "Food and Soul 1 should be concerned about the possibility of other restaurateurs trying to snaffle its staff. During our visit, they were spot on with their mix of friendliness and professionalism, and seemed genuinely concerned about whether we were enjoying our meals."
