Mietta's Review
Ciao Baby is red and hot. The reddest restaurant in the sunshine state. Rough, distressed walls, dark stained wooden furniture and two storeys of red out front. Chef, Dan Chapman's team pump out plenty of pasta and pizzas - it's very smart and family casual, with prices to match. Serviceable wine-list. In 06 mains averaged $21.

Courier Mail food and wine guide Queensland 2008 Score: 12/20 "From the fire-engine red frontage, complete with parked Vespa, to the exposed brick walls and naked lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling, Ciao Baby oozes atmosphere"

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2007 "It's hard to miss this restaurant set in a two-storey Victorian building that's painted vibrant red"

Sunday Mail Renae Robinson, 20-8-2006 "Chef Daniel Chapman, previously of Jorge and Rush Lounge in the city, does the menu justice. ... The restaurant is popular with young families and kids are well catered for, with their own Bambini menu and the chance to become a Ciao Baby chef. ... Suave service by restaurant manager Michael Redhead makes for a smooth meal, and the comfy booths, smashed-up brick walls and bare light bulbs make for a hip vibe. The space is a trifle noisy, and as people's voices get progressively louder above the opera music, it can be difficult to order - but that's all part of the fun."

Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 "You can't miss this bright red two-story building with a fashionably distressed interior. The place fills early with diners looking for great casual mod-Italian food including antipastos, pasta dishes, grills and a range of popular pizzas "

Brisbane News Eating Out Guide 2006 "Painted fire-engine red, you can't miss this hip joint, which serves up style, scrumptious pizzas and so much more."

Courier-Mail Goodlife Restaurant Guide 05 "You can't miss this double storey eatery painted in fire engine red as you drive out of the city through Albion. The third of Murray Williams' ventures, the interior is striking with rough, blasted-out walls from an old group of shops, layers of paint sanded back to reveal each other and simple, dark wood-stained furnishings. It's a fun, ultra-casual venue for dining with the family, in small groups or just as a couple."

Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2004 "The rustic, Tuscan-style interior speaks volumes about the menu produced by executive chef Murray Williams. Try the gnocchi with prawns and chilli"

Brisbane News 09/04 Natascha Mirosch score 8/10 "Ciao Baby, Murray William's newest venture, is impossibly stylish, decorated con brio with peeling layers of paint and ultra-distressed brick walls. Scarlet dominates, from the facade to just about everywhere else. "

Courier Mail Good Life 24/8/04 Lizzie Loel "You can't miss Ciao Baby because it's bright red, all two storeys and two shopfronts of it. From the road it looks like a giant phonebox but when it's open high tables and stools in dark wood are parked on the footpath and people sit sipping lattes and chatting."
