Mietta's Review
A beautiful setting in Chiswick Gardens with shaded outdoor seating on a very pleasant terrace, overlooking the park. There have been many owners here but under its current management it appears to have stablised. Modern Australian food, Jazz at Sunday brunch and Fridays during winter.

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 13/20 "With a 58-year history and one of Sydney's prettiest Eastern Suburbs settings, Pruniers attracts high hopes. It might not always live up to such promise, but there's certainly a lot to like: the French doors opening to pretty Chiswick Park, friendly service and the reassurance of former My Restaurant Rules-chef Stewart Broughton."

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Score 14/20 "Time was when Pruniers, known by the moniker Chiswick Gardens for its appealing garden location, was all about the cocktail bar rather than the food. Evolution with different owners now means that the food is a feature and more contemporary, as is the setting."

SMH GFG 2004,Score 14/20,Good wine list,'Pruniers suffers from an ivy-league image, most likely because it's in Woollahra. And because it's a stately glassed pavilion edged by an expanse of manicured lawn where it could be imagined the aristocracy take high tea...Finesse and craft are here in abundance'

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide 2004,'a romantic restaurant...sophisticated seasonal menu...Expect assured contemporary Australian cooking...smart wine list...Service is relaxed and efficient.'
