Mietta's Review
At a new location, now a 3 Jersey Street, Buzo, is packed with eager dinners. The staff are helpful and ready to offer advice on all manner of things. The kitchen is still turning out Italian inspired dishes and there are some nice wines to go along with your meal. Is a good idea to make a reservation.

Other published opinions

Gourmet Traveller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: * "There are some things you just know you can count on, such as Buzo's own brand of uncomplicated elegance. The Jersey Road terrace excels at the simple things: a cosy interior of dark wood enlivened by striking art; sharp, friendly service; modern Italian food"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 14.5/20 "This elegant two-storey terrace is a popular landmark, both for fashionable locals and foodies who like their Italian stylishly modern"

Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide Score: * "There are the restaurants you recommend and then there are those you love s much that you're reluctant t share"

Sydney Eats 2008 "From Edgecliff Station, turn right up New South Head Rd, right into Ocean St, right into jersey Rd. A 15-Minute walk"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 14/20 "This must rank as one of Sydney's leading, and classiest, Italian trattorias. buzo (opposite the Woollahra cop shop, so watch your manners) is in small but gorgeous chocolate- walled rooms on two levels with a marvellous faux-Euro ambience."

Gourmet Traveller 2007 Restaurant Guide Score: * "Strange to say it, but one of the most Italian of restaurants in Sydney just happens to be run by a trio of Aussies with less Italian blood between them than a slice of emu prosciutto. Not that chefs Todd Garratt and James Hird would ever serve anything that tacky."

Sydney Eats 2006 "in dishes such as vincigrassi, lasagne of porcini, prosciutto and truffles $22.50 and calf's liver with caramelised onions and balsamic $22. Desserts are among the best in town. Try the delicate pear and chocolate tart $12, washed down with a grappa. Sublime. ------------------------------ "

SMH David Dale 25/3/05 "And a mob of geniuses in the kitchen have found the magic formula of creating dishes that look beautiful without being tricked up, and taste wonderful because they retain the integrity of their regional origins. Out of 10: Food 9 Finely crafted, upmarket Italian. Service 7 Varies from the warmly efficient to the slightly patronising. Atmosphere 7 Intimate, elegant, dark, cool - and that's just the customers. Value 7 Starters about $15, mains about $25 (vegies $7.50 a dish extra), desserts about $12."

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 "Amid Woollahra's posh restraint, Buzo has been a welcoming slice of la bella vita. Enjoy it while you can at its current location, because it's due for a move to 3 Jersey Road, at the other end of the street, in October 2004, with a possible name and style change, too. There's a sobriety to the room's dark colourings and low lighting, but hospitable service, a neighbourhood trattoria feel and honest, rustic Italian dishes attract a bubbly crowd"

Gourmet Traveller Australian Restaurant Guide 2005 Good Vegetarian Options "Buzo is due to close its doors at the end of 2004. But fear not, dear Italophile Woollahrites and Paddingtonians, for the new digs are a mere hop, skip and secondi from the old site, on larger premises at 3 Jersey Road. Fear not, too, for the food and the vibe, for the owners remain committed to a simple style of dining that belies the thought and passion put into the menu and service"

Sydney Eats 2005 "This cosy, upmarket trattoria has flourished under new ownership in a room that could be the front room of your friendly neighbour's house. But all that's about to change - new digs further up jersey Road are under renovation, and Buzo will relocate towards the end of this year."

SMH GFG 2004, Score 14/20,'it's a culinary beacon, ease your way through the narrow space between the tables and sit down in a room dominated by two blackboards displating Italian dishes...what's on the menu is good food offered to you with much skill and no fuss'

Gourmet Traveller Guide 2004-one black star for casual dining, good vegetarian option

24/7/01 SMH review 14/20 more affordable italian dining experince, very busy with locals
