Mietta's Review
A great setting for a casual wine bar cafe. On the water close to the new Sydney Theatre and the Wharf Theatre which provide lots of pre- and post-theatre movement. There's an excellent, if expensive wine list, rather nice casual food served in small, reasonably priced, portions that don't unessicarily interfere with one's liquid consumption.

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 12/20 "There are almost as many reasons to go to Firefly as there are dishes on the menu, from the harbour location, to pre- and posttheatre meals, and the low-key, hip vibe"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 12/20 "There's a lot to like about postage-stamp- sized Firefly, perched on the water's edge. As the sun goes down, luxury yachts bob at the marina candlelights twinkle. The ambience of this intimate, glassed-over space s funky and fun, from the easy-to-read menu and wine list to the seasonal cocktails and excited chatter of other diners."

SMH, good living January 15, 200 Annette Shun Wah "a calm oasis in the heart of theatreland, where the fabulous fare complements the summery atmosphere. Out of 10: Food 8 A varied and tasty grazing menu. Service 9 Perfectly pitched between casual and professional. Atmosphere 9 Discreet and relaxed with glittering water views. Value 7 We paid $39 for a dozen oysters; $8-$16 for tapas-sized dishes and the wine list is exemplary, if a little pricey. The premium location comes free."

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Best Bars "this tiny operation has an idiosyncratic selection of wines and cocktails informed by a sense of whimsy and a taste for quality."

SMH, good living, 17/2/04, Kate Duthie,'It's very small. The bar and kitchen are part of the main building and a small-open-air raised platform with a glass roof pokes out front, housing all seating, tables and chairs and a long black banquette. It's lit with little tea lights in glass holders and is just perfect...good food and a good attitude to service. The drinks list has been carefully compiled'
