Mietta's Review
Bel Mondo was the Manfredi's dream restaurant - a wonderful theatre for their art. Now they have moved on but the restaurant stays on still as dramatic as always with its rooftop and bridge views. Prices have dropped a fraction and the feeling is a little more casual.

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "Tucked away above the beery bustle of The Rocks is one of Sydney's most serene and impressive dining rooms. It's huge and heavy-beamed, permeated with the inviting smell of wood - though with the large front bar empty and the exposed kitchen running slow it can feel a little cavernous"

Sydney Morning Herald Dan Kaufman, 2-10-2007 "Crowd Mainly well-dressed couples.Vibe Low-key and relaxed.Highs Great service and ambience.Lows The cocktails were hit and miss.Drinks Wine from $8, beer from $6 (for light beer - full strength starts from $7), cocktails from $14."

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 13/20 "The worn stairway up to Gloucester Walk from Argyle Street is a handy escape route fromthe rowdy pub vortex of The Rocks. It's like a passage back in time, with bel mondo a pleasant refuge at its end."

SMH GFG 2004, Score 14/20, And-enter via the rough-hewn steps off Argyle St,'the slant on the food is more Mod Oz...Prices are high, leading to lofty expectations, leaving us feeling a little bit less on the bill would make the place a lot more inviting to visit.'

Gourmet Traveller Guide 2004- one red star for fine dining food. Manfredi family have left, continues to produce excellent Italian food. Stylish setting. Well contructed menu of Italian styles and flavours that is authentic seasonal and expertly created by chef Neil Pass.
