Mietta's Review
A simple shopfront with a bench and stools in the window and some eight tables. Once inside you can see the chef at the kitchen window stretching, rolling and shaping his noodles. Some unusual and delicious dishes from North China - potato stir fried, still lightly raw, in lots of oil, a few shreds of carrot and capsicum and lots of dark vinegar. Panfried pork buns, spring onion cakes and traditional Peking specialities are the go here.

Sydney Eats 2008 "Some of the best eating in Chinatown is to be found in small, nofuss noodle joints like this"

Sydney Eats 2006 "The name gives a clue it's a classic no-nonsense eat-and-retreat joint full of Asian people doing just that. Yep, it's a canteen, but a canteen with good noodles (made out the back) and some really interesting dishes"

Sydney Eats 2005 "There's happy noodling to be had at this small, friendly Chinatown eatery. In addition to a vast array of dumplings, buns, noodles, soups and stirfries, you'll find Szechuan specials, laksa and the mysteriously named Thousand Layered Wind (pig's ears to you and me)."
