Mietta's Review
The slick interior replaces the old style and is in sharp contrast to the bucolic surroundings (that is if your table's view is not of the Cahill Expressway). Though close to the city, this is not the ideal place for a business lunch as the service drags, but it is a lovely spot to laze around outside, especially after having done some culture vulturing in the Art Gallery.

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 13/20 "Is that Sydney or Manhattan rising skyward across the Domain's vast swathe of green? This is one of the city's most attractive lunch spots, with 270-degree views from the glass-walled, contemporary room with its sandstone terrace, and a tempting invitation to whittle away an afternoon outdoors."

SMH Good Food Guide 2005Score 14/20 Good Wine List "from a sunny table on the Pavilion's verandah you're served a very big slice of life along the Domain's beautiful green belt. In keeping with the relaxed but polished space, chef Christian Poulsen offers smart food with just a hint of architectural formality."

Gourmet Traveller Australian Restaurant Guide 2005 Good Vegetarian Options "if you sit outside, watch the shady canopy above your table - it usually plays host to some aggressive and noisy Indian mynah birds whose shadows scattering helter-skelter at least provide some entertainment, as the service is interminably slow. Christian Poulsen hails from the English school of French country cooking"

SMH GFG 2004,Score 14/20,Good wine list,Consistently very good'Forever lost are afternoons lunching at the Pavilion,in a serene grren belt on the city's doorstep. And you can lose yourself in a seasonally adjusted menu with a gentle and classical approach to the modern Sydney style...With a grand choice of stickies and cognacs,it's no wonder afternoons here are forever lost.'

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004, 1 Red Star, Excellent wine list,'This atrium-style restaurant...each diner's view through the leaffy canopies of the Domain feels like a private window on to the city skyline...Provincial French influences appear in main dishes...Professional service makes this an ideal business lunch destination.'

The Sydney Morning Herald, Good Living, Good Eating, Eat Out, Matthew Evans, 23/7/02, Score 14/20. "Christian Poulsen has settled into the Pavilion on the park with a smarter than average menu."
