Mietta's Review
Tucked away inside the ancient brick walls of one of Sydney's earliest remaining architectural treasures, is this lovely cafe - and happily the food and flower-filled decor are of the present day. Whilst the menu is small a good range of well cooked dishes are offered, the Fish and Chips was light and crispy, perfect. They only serve lunch and, as they are right near the courts, they are packed - read lots of barristers.

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Score 13/20 "Around 180 years ago, only convicts and mad women saw inside the Barracks, a superb convict-built example of Francis Greenway's colonial architecture, set in a private courtyard behind sandstone walls off busy Macquarie Street. Now the cafe on this popular tourist site welcomes allcomers, with plenty of sightseers joining the regular clientele of city suits from the legal and financial fraternities. They settle into an airy, noisy, lightfilled dining room, at tables covered in crisp white linen and butcher's paper."
