Mietta's Review
A family restaurant, cosy, a bit noisy when full - which is often. And a bit of a challenge to those with short term memory loss. There is no menu, the waiter recites all the dishes but, don't worry, let yourself be persuaded eloquently.

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 14/20 "They've earned the key to the city. Or in this case, Mosman. Now 21 years young, Il Perugino continues to dispense its timeless "

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 14/20 "Co-owner Maurizio Mencio is everywhere with his impeccable service. Il Perugino has been true-blue for two decades now, with refined trattoria food, a recited, well-balanced menu, and more than a touch of class: linen cloths, muted walls, mirrored dados and Italian ceramics."

SBS Eating Guide to Sydney 2005 "It's famous for the lack of menu-nothing's written down; the specials of the day are recited to you by the waiter. It's also famously loud and busy and an old favourite"

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Score 13/20 "There's something Pythonesque about an appreciably packed restaurant where noise levels shake the rafters and an entire, not inconsiderable menu is only verbally recited."

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Best BYOs "Every night feels like a festa at this Italian stalwart, and every night is BYO night"

SMH GFG 2004, Score 13/20,'friendly, elegant dining room, framed by a ribbon of mirrors, is filled with chit-chat, crisp shirts, BYO bottles on white double-linen tabletops, olive oil and fine cutlery...As timber chair legs scrape terracotta, waiters recite a menu of robust, produce-driven Italian cooking.'

28.6.00, daily telegraphs, Il perugino mosman, no corkage small cosy and noisy italian restaurant with a verbal rather than written, menu and sensational food. Make a booking and expect to pay about $20 for a main.
