Mietta's Review
One of the most beautiful spots to dine in Australia. About 50 minutes drive from the city or arrive by boat or seaplane. Set in unspoilt national park surrounds, this converted boatshed and general store has ample moorings. Friendly waiters who also know their boat knots greet you. Sit on a deck where you hear the water lapping under you, shaded by green canvas umbrellas, admiring a stunning view. Seafood accented, refined modern Australian dishes are efficiently served, and a waiter may even help you to feed a kookaburra. Two luxury appartments if you wish to stay over.

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2009 Score: 13.5/20 "Some turn up in style by seaplane or boat, yet driving through the national park to this quaint little former boatshed and general store at the junction of Cowan Waters and Coal and Candle Creek is equally spectacular"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13.5/20 "Boats glide by, the seaplanes swoop in and out, and the magic of this bushland waterfront setting washes away any remnants of city stress"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 14/20 "This converted 1950s boatshed is a magical place, no matter how you approach it - by car, boat or seaplane. It's classy and simple, but the real drawcard is the dazzling water and bushland spectacle."

SMH Good Food Guide 2005 Score 14/20 Good Wine List "Seaplanes glide past with the regularity of Oxford Street buses as kookaburras hungrily eye your plate in this beautiful nook on the Hawkesbury River. The setting is worth every second of the 45-minute drive from the city, although these days, dining on the spectacular deck is limited. If you don't book and ask for an outside table early enough, you'll be confined to inside the boatshed-cum-restaurant and the plastic-covered verandah. There is still an unimpeded view from one side and the seafood-leaning menu is as homely and gracefully executed as ever."

The Daily Telegraph, 4/2/04, food & wine, Sue Bennett,'a touch of fine dining'

SMH GFG 2004, Score 14/20, 1 Hat-consistently very good, good wine list,'Relax on a wide water's edge deck with unbroken views across open reaches of Cowan Creek...The cooking shows condident restraint, individual flavours peeking through in a balenced menu .'
