Other published opinions

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2009 "It's all about the wood-fired oven action. Puffy-edged Naples-style bases arrive, not unexpectedly, with a classic tomato, garlic, oregano, caper and anchovy napoletana topping"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2009 Score: 13/20 "It won't challenge gastronomic boundaries but this energetic little local is always full to the brim, for good reason. In the slender downstairs room, diners practically sit on each other's laps, while guests upstairs squeeze into a lovely little alfresco setting or a larger room for big groups"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "It's loud and lively at this popular suburban Italian, where the locals love the pizza emerging from the mega wood-fired oven downstairs"

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 13/20 "It's cosy, very cosy (you can hold hands with your fellow diners if you wish). And it's very Italian. Everyone is greeted with a warm 'Buona sera, come stai?' before being seated on the thick, comfy banquettes or perched on the more solid, less accommodating kitchen chairs."

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2006 "Oh mamma mia. How long has the North Shore waited for this kind of Italian? The sort where good-looking, long-suffering waiters treat regulars like, well, amici (friends) and the pizze are so reminiscent of the old country that you can taste Napoli in the darkly spotted crust?"

SMH Good Living Mathew Evans 19/7/05 score 13/20 "What in an ideal world would be a commonplace eatery stands out in a Sydney suburb smart pizza, decent interpretations of trattoria food, and cheerful (if sometimes dippy) service. ... The Wine List Short, but decent and cheap: two Italians; BYO (corkage $3 a head). The Service Some seem lost. The Noise Really, really loud. The Bill Entrees $14.50-$16.50; mains $17.50-$30.50; desserts $8.50-$12.50; 10 percent surcharge on public holidays. The Value Good."

SBS Eating Guide to Sydney 2005 "The motto here is 'vera pizza napoletana'. This colourful modern pizza joint does a pretty authentic job of pizza Naples-style-ask any Neapolitan and they'll tell you it's the only style. Owner Andrew Maggio has put together a pretty terrific team too"

Sydney Cheap Eats 2005 "this busy, friendly and sometimes noisy restaurant. The menu, like the owner/chef Antonio Micco, is very Italian"

SMH, good living, 30/3/04,Keith Austin,'It's friendly, clean and simple, cool without being try-hard,comfortable without being down-at-heel...The secret is, without a doubt,in the ingredients, which are sparkling fresh,of the highest quality and prepared with respect to that quality...It is stunning stuff.'
