From Grafton to Brushy makes an interesting side trip. Through cane fields and farms, country cottages - many falling down. Water and birds everywhere. Cross by ferry to McLean and Brushgrove Island - the largest inland island in the southern hemisphere with 40 homes, one pub, one post office and one panel beater. The two story weatherboard pub has atmosphere in bucket loads, plastic chairs and dried flowers. Meet the locals during a sweep lunch.
