Mietta's Review
Panorea is the best place, at its level, in Manuka today. Good prices a pleasant environment and service that tries hard. But in spite of its virtues that include lots of outside space with heaters for the winter, one could be excused from thinking that here television has become reality and that My Restaurant Rules. First there's the creative menu that consists mostly of 'Tastes' ($9-$14) a few pastas (sub $18) (which seem to be the biggest sellers) and five mains ($25); then the staff all have HAIR (excluding one notable exception in the kitchen), spiky, dripping with gel and very much of the moment; add the superior, obsequious, service and the confrontation with the tall attractive girl (with splendidly part blonde, multi-directional hair) who is clearly one of the owners about the precise level of satisfaction the customer is enjoying; and the cutting edge food (braised beef cheeks) that, though not unpleasant, has very little real taste. A monument to the cleverness of youth.

Other published opinions

Canberra Times Cath Lawrence, 09-04-08 Score: 12/20 "Casual comfort, and uneven but sometimes great bar food in Manuka."

Canberra Times Catriona Jackson, 30-08-06 "OVER the past two years Pangaea has settled in nicely to arguably the best spot on the Manuka strip, on the comer opposite St Christopher's. Pretty much every night of the week you'll find a buzz atmosphere, with groups of 2Osomethings drinking cocktails and nibbling on the vast array of "first flavours"(tapas, antipasto, yum cha-style little plates). Older couples are tucked away in corners taking dinner more seriously and then there are those just in for a drink or coffee. This "eat what you like when you like" approach is perfect for the spot and area, allowing friends to grab a late lunch, gather after work and maybe stay on for dinner or get supper after a movie."
