The room could be an office space but with the Indian-style trinkets, there was no doubt we were in the right place. The dining room is quite spacious with comfortable-looking chairs. While having native customers is a flag for authentic cuisine, having students is a sign that it's probably reasonably priced as well. Two thumbs way up: the Jewel was both. Venkatesh Ramachandran loomed large and confident in his dining room. He is a wellqualified chef and has been operating the Jewel for nine years after leaping off a long fivestar hotel career in India and Australia."
