Mietta's Review
Eat outside in the warmer months in the courtyard with its fairy-lights, pond and pot-plants. Inside white linen and banquets enclose you in its warm atmosphere. Good coffee, desserts and mod oz dishes for the culture vultures winging it out of the Gorman House Arts Centre.

Other published opinions

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2008 Score: 13/20 "Buried deep in the centre of the Gorman House Arts Centre on the fringe of the city, among dance classes and theatre rehearsals, this comfortable, family-run fine diner is a carefully guarded, yet welcoming Canberra secret"

Canberra Times Catriona Jackson, 1-02-06 "right in the centre of this reclaimed arts complex, is a really good restaurant. Seating about 20, Sage is nestled behind frosted glass right in the middle of the former public servants' boarding house. It has all the hallmarks of an owner-operated venture. Run by couple Thomas and Crystal Moore, it is welcoming and intimate, and refreshingly relaxed compared with other fine dining establishments. Chairs and banquettes are very comfortable, and thank goodness, there's no background music. Service is considerate and efficient. A little more knowledge of the wine list would have been helpful, but advice was quickly obtained from the chef instead."

Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2007 Score: 14/20 "Nestled n an inner-city arts centre, Sage s a real hidden gem. This tiny, softly lit, intimate space, with velour chairs and banquettes, is run with real warmth and remains refreshingly relaxed given the high quality of the food."

Sydney Cheap Eats 2005 "Enter from the back street and enjoy coming through the courtyard with potted plants, bubbling pond and fairylights. The outdoor area is popular in good weather, while inside is cosy with crisp, white linen and art deco chairs and banquettes."

Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2005 Best Cafes "doles out decent coffee from within the Gorman House arts complex, as well as some pleasing, if busy, eats." Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Australia 2004, Good vegetarian options,'makes wonderful use of fresh produce in the menu, using organic wherever possible...homely feel of the place, achieved not only by the intimacy of the venue but also because his wife, takes such good care of the front of house.'
